Funny Fingerprint Finds

Postby Kasey Wertheim » Mon Jul 20, 2009 12:49 pm

Regarding other experts: Latent print examiners should always be subjected to cross examination. Latent print identification is not a science, it is a art. And often there is a fair amount of witchcraft, for lack of a better term, that goes into making an identification. ... Other so-called experts, such as ... toolmark examiners, are hacks practicing pseudoscience and shouldn't even be allowed to testify in the first place.

So if a forensic practitioner is thrown in the river and sinks, then they are they guilty of witchcraft? or was it they are guilty if they float?

If you sink you are innocent, but you drown.

If you come to the surface you are guilty and they pull you out and burn you alive.

If you are Rambo you come out of the water with an M-60 and lay waste to everyone.

I figure I'm safe. I weight considerably more than a duck.

I guess we shouldn't really get into how you can tell he's a latent print examiner.
