Niagara County's forensics laboratory has been accused of serious violations by the State Commission on Forensic Science, including misrepresenting information, fabricating, and backdating training documentation, and accepting improperly packaged evidence. The commission has set a hearing date for April 20th, where representatives from Niagara County will have an opportunity to address the violations. The lab remains accredited and operational pending the hearing. 

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Laboratory is accredited by The ANSI National Accreditation Board. ANAB is a non-governmental organization that provides accreditation services and training to public and private sector organizations.
